In order to develop understanding of the political dimension of Europe and tools for affecting the decision-making processes at European level, it is important to foresee activities where this can be fostered. It is necessary to create a common background that will be used for developing national level debates about the European dimension of educational and youth policies and their potential.
To achieve these aims, between the 7th and the 11th of october, OBESSU will hold its Training Course for International Officers: "European policies on Youth and Education: how can we affect the decision-making processes?" in Brussels, Belgium.
The training will take in consideration the work of the EU, giving key information on the main processes initiated by this actor in the fields of Intercultural Learning, Educational policies, Youth empowerment policies, policies for recognition of non-formal education, policies on social inclusion and against discrimination, policies on Youth employment, Human right education.
For the purpose of the seminar OBESSU will cooperate and will call for the expertise also from other organizations such as the European Youth Forum, the ETUC, the ETUCE, the European Student Union, the European Parents Association, ESHA or other organisations that can help in analyzing the different themes covered. Through this training course we aim at providing a space to develop understanding of the European dimension of education and youth polices and their importance and relevance to the work of the national school student unions.
