Survey “Young people and online hate speech”

In the framework of the project “Young people combating hate speech online“, the Youth Department of the Council of Europe has launched a survey on young people’s attitudes and experience of online hate speech. The surveys will be open until 4th October 2012.

The project aims to combat racism and discrimination in their online expression of hate speech by equipping young people and youth organisations with the competences necessary to recognise and act against such human rights violations. The project is build around an online campaign against hate speech to be launched in 2013.

The survey targets young people in Europe and beyond and is intended to provide empirical data to support further research (very much missing on the topic) and support us in shaping better the online campaign against hate speech. The survey takes only 15 minutes and is available in:

We invite you to complete the survey and also disseminate it among your networks of members, partners and young people so that we gather as much data as possible.

The surveys will be open until 4th October 2012.
